This presentation will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various types of CO2 compression technologies including integrally geared compressors, single shaft compressors, reciprocating compressors and pumps. It will aim to help operators make intelligent decisions regarding equipment selection by providing guidance on when each type of technology should be applied and relative trade-offs. Additionally, the presentation will discuss specific improvements on Integrally Geared Compressors that have been made by Siemens Energy in the recent months and years, such as waste heat recovery, modularization of the package to reduce transport and I&C costs and risks, improvements on sealing for fugitive emission reduction as well as optimizations in the design in terms of maintainability.
