It is reported that around 600 CCUS projects are in the pipeline to enter operation by 2032 with a total CO2 capture of nearly 680 MMTPA.  Many FIDs are anticipated to be made in 2024. The majority of the projects to be deployed by 2032 are early deployment of CCUS projects with First Of A Kind (FOAK) applications. Deployment of CO2 capture FOAK technologies at scale and at pace are being challenged. Some projects have been cancelled or FID deferred due to lack of funding, regulatory reasons such as pipeline and storage permits, or inefficiencies in project development.

This presentation provides learnings from FOAK carbon capture FEED projects for which Worley provided engineering services. FEED projects support and drive FID commitments. This presentation shares our learnings of important FEED components to develop a successful project.
