Hydrogen permeability of multiple polyimide grades had been studied and the results and significance of this property is discussed in this presentation. Certain Polyimide chemistry has shown a very favorable low hydrogen permeability, and one of the longest saturation times found amongst various polymers so far. In addition, rapid gas decompression resistance as a means of evaluating polymer compatibility with hydrogen will be discussed together with specific test results trying to reproduce these phenomena.
