FEED contract for 50MW green hydrogen plant has been secured by ITM Power
A front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for a 50MW green hydrogen production site, has been given to ITM Power. This company will become the technology provider for this project.
This contract was awarded by an undisclosed green hydrogen plant developer within the EU and now it has already been planned that ITM will provide ten NEPTUNE V units – a 5MW containerised electrolyser plant.
So far, the plan is for the plant to start producing an estimated 5,000 tonnes of green hydrogen on an annual basis from the second half of 2027 and this plant will be able to supply local industries.
Furthermore, the FEED contract will make sure the development of the project is supported ahead of a final investment decision (FID). Plus, it has been made clear that the customer expects to take the FID in 2025.
ITM Power CEO, Dennis Schulz, commented, “We are excited to have been selected as the technology partner for this project. NEPTUNE V was only launched in May of this year, and this FEED confirms our view at the time that mid-sized green hydrogen projects would experience strong momentum in the near term.”
