Hexagon Purus Maritime has opened new offices in Norway

Hexagon Purus Maritime is part of the Hexagon Purus subsidiary, a company who develops complete hydrogen fuel systems for on board vessels and they have recently opened new offices in Ålesund, Norway. This has occurred in order to meet the increasing demand for hydrogen storage solutions.

The company is well-known for manufacturing hydrogen fuel systems for on board vessels, with the design for these following its Type 4 high-pressure cylinders.

Their current project is focused on manufacturing and producing fuel systems which are suitable for SKULEBAS, the training vessel, for Hvide Sande Shipyard and also for the ‘world’s first’ hydrogen-powered fishing workboat, which is used by Moen Marin.

Now that they have lots of hydrogen projects and commitments occurring simultaneously, the company has decided to open new offices in Norway. These will be located in Ålesund and it will measure 450 square metres of office space, plus an extra 150 square metre workshop. Purus has also mentioned that the possibility of future expansion is something the company will be looking into.

Managing Director of Hexagon Purus Maritime, Robert Haugen, commented that the company’s hydrogen fuel systems will “contribute to the fight against climate change.” He continued, “The Devold factory’s historical connection to green energy and winding technology harmonises well with our commitment to sustainability and innovation.”
