Andy Morgans is the Sustainability Program Manager in Port Houston’s Infrastructure Division. He joined Port Houston in 2024 following working in the private and public sectors in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe and the United Kingdom. Andy oversees and executes Port Houston’s carbon neutrality plan which involves the development of sustainability business, energy transition, and operational resiliency programs. Andy is also a member of IFRS’ Sustainability Reference Group, which provides technical input to the International Sustainability Standards Board for research and standard-setting projects.
Following graduation with a master’s degree in environmental law, Mr. Morgans worked as an environmental consultant for several years advising clients operating in the UK and Europe. He was transferred to Canada to work at their corporate headquarters. It was in Western Canada that Andy had an opportunity to work for a competitive power generator and managed the regulatory and permitting activities for a portfolio of commercial projects. Following a family relocation to Atlantic Canada, Andy became a public civil servant working to support the economic and social sustainability of communities and regions through the efficient delivery of programs and services to local governments and their residents. It was in Eastern Canada that Andy had the opportunity to work for a leading North American investor-owned utilities company, which operated across Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean.
