Dr Thomas has more than 40 years’ experience in powder and porous materials characterization, primarily gas adsorption studies. He graduated from the University of Birmingham (UK) with degrees in chemistry and analytical chemistry, and worked in the chemical industry for 8 years before joining Quantachrome Instruments (USA) in 1991. In 2018 Quantachrome was purchased by Anton Paar and Dr Thomas currently serves as their Global Lead Scientist for the Surface and Pores product group (Florida, USA). He has a number of patents in this field and is co-author of “Characterization of Porous Solids and Powders: Surface Area, Pore Size and Density” (Springer, Netherlands).
