Tianyu Chen is a member of the S&P Global Commodity Insights Cost and Supply Chain team. In this position, he utilizes his expertise in carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies to assess the viability of CCUS methods and processes from both technical and economic standpoints. Prior to joining S&P Global, he worked as a Research Chemical Engineer at Research Triangle Institute. His role involved performing a range of technical modeling and simulations for CCUS process integrated with the cement plant, which led to him delivering multiple journal articles and reports focused on process models, techno-economic assessments, and life cycle evaluation on greenhouse gas emissions. He holds a doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University.
